What will happen on Season Three of Dallas on TNT?
We’re two days away from the premiere of season three of Dallas on TNT and the buzz is growing. YouTube is filled with preview videos of the action we can expect in the weeks ahead as the Ewings move forward with the launch of Ewing Global after seemingly vanquishing old Cliff Barnes in last season’s finale. There are some twists and turns in store, especially when it comes to the show’s central foursome John Ross, Pamela, Christopher and Elena. With Ms. Ramos steaming after learning of the Ewing family’s role in the bad fortune that fell upon her family — courtesy of Cliff — and John Ross engaging in some extramarital hanky panky with pill-popping Emma, it will take a roadmap to follow the developments in the love lives of the new generation’s Ewing clan. Add to this a few mysterious newcomers to the Southfork scene and the scene is set for a sizzling third season. Here’s a roundup of some of the major developments that have been hinted at in TNT’s teasers, online chatter and other resources that this intrepid Dallas blogger has turned to for the scoop.
Argentine actor Juan Pablo Di Pace, who has a long list of credits in Europe, joins the cast for the full season as Nicolas Trevino, a suave businessman who will come up against the Ewings and I’m sure he will get romantically entangled with Pamela, Elena or both.
AnnaLynne McCord props up Christopher’s sagging love life as Heather, a Southfork ranchhand with a troublemaking ex-husband and a little boy. One of TNT’s sneak preview videos includes a scene that appears to show Heather enjoying a roll in the hay with John Ross as well. Is no woman in Dallas immune to his devilish charm?
Actor Donny Boaz, who turned up on Dallas last season as Emma’s drug supplier, has an expanded gig this season playing Bo McCabe, who I think is Heather’s no-good ex.
John Ross will continue his ardent liaisons with drug-addled Emma, who I suspect has more than a no-strings fling in mind for the Ewing heir. This makes me wonder if Drew is out of the picture completely. She had better watch her step, however. An upcoming scene has a suspicious Sue Ellen warning Emma that “tramps don’t last long in this house.” Priceless!
John Ross may be knocking boots with Emma, but his heart belongs to Pamela. Well, as much as his heart can belong to any one woman, that is. John Ross shares his daddy’s Madonna/whore complex and while he feels he and Pamela make a good match in the bedroom and the boardroom, he’s not above losing his trousers to pave the way to getting what he wants in business. John Ross and Pam will repeat their wedding vows on Southfork, which brings back Audrey Landers as Pam’s mother Afton Cooper along with Charlene Tilton and Steve Kanaly as Lucy and Ray.
Sue Ellen will continue to hit the bottle, which may be an old story but it’s one that rings true. This is the first full season in which she will face life without J.R. being in the world and as much grief as he brought her, he was the love of her life and now Sue Ellen has to ask herself “What next?” The stress of trying to keep John Ross on the straight and narrow will no doubt fuel her need to get sauced but let’s hope there’s a new romance on the horizon for her that may help pull her out of her personal hell.
Elena as Cliff’s Trojan horse? The devious Mr. Barnes did a great job of enraging Elena with the revelation that J.R. was responsible for the Ramos family’s misfortunes. Will Elena keep a poker face and scheme to undermine the Ewings from within their ranks or will she declare all-out open war? Stay tuned.
