Dallas Star Spotlight: Leonor Varela as Marta Del Sol

Making life impossible for John Ross Ewing as unhinged mystery woman Marta Del Sol, a.k.a Veronica Martinez, the beautiful Leonor Varela follows in the Dallas tradition of dangerous divas such as Kristin Shephard, Katherine Wentworth and Angelica Nero. I suspect that something pretty big will be going down with Marta in the July 15 episode now that she’s gone all “Fatal Attraction” on John Ross and has launched a deadly game of cat and mouse. The sexy and elegant actress has crafted a compelling character by slowly unraveling before viewers’ eyes and a juicy payoff may be waiting just around the corner. Dallas fans might recognize Leonor from her appearances in the vampire flick “Blade II” starring Wesley Snipes and the 1998 film “The Man in The Iron Mask” with Leonardo DiCaprio. Like her Dallas co-star Jordana Brewster, Leonor is a beauty with an international background. She was born in  Chile and has lived in Costa Rica, Germany, France and of course the United States. Adding the juicy role of Marta to her resume, I expect exciting things are ahead for this Chilean stunner.

Here’s a YouTube link to an audio interview Leonor recently did with the Ultimate Dallas site in which she discusses working with the rest of the Dallas cast and how the depiction of latino characters has evolved on the show.  It’s a long interview but worth a listen.
